Tom Kohler Cadmore will be spending the whole of this summer playing cricket for Somerset, something that he is very much looking forward to.For the previous two seasons, the 31-year-old right-handed batter who joined the Cidermen in 2023 has played franchise cricket in the Indian Premier League and not been available until later in June, and although he has enjoyed considerable success in the Vitality Blast TKC has only played in 23 championship games.Advertisement“I have been back here this winter since January so now I’m really looking forward to getting going."I’ve had a long preparation time so I’m looking forward to Friday and hopefully put a stamp on the season,” TKC said earlier this week.“This year it was key to me to have a lot of time off from playing whereas in previous years I’ve just rolled up and been a little bit fatigued."Obviously I’ve done ok so I know for me I’ve got the performance part of my job done, but this year I’ve had a real refresh and mentally I’m really excited and ready to go and Im looking forward to having a full season with the players.Advertisement“The last couple of years we have had a really strong squad and I think it’s the same again this year so hopefully we will be able to compete again.“If we can start well and give ourselves a platform for the latter part of the season when it spins more, then we will be in a really strong position when it comes to those back six games.“For me, it will be very nice to be able to spend the whole season here - I love the boys, I love playing here, and that was a big driver in my decision making this year to be able to spend time here.”AdvertisementTKC went on: “I love playing in the championship, it feels like there’s something much greater than me that I’m playing for, and you’ve got the whole squad driving towards the victories."It’s the moments—even the up and down periods when we are all really tight—it’s just a great side to be a part of.”What would constitute a good season for TKC?“I don’t mind what it is but if we get silverware, the season has been a success and I want to contribute to those wins.Advertisement"If we are winning games then that is my biggest driver.”He added: “The way I look back on seasons is the games that I have contributed to wins, I don’t look at averages."I want to be scoring the tough runs and setting games up hopefully and putting us in positions where we are winning more games than we are losing.”
