Cristiano Ronaldo and his doubts about Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Al-Nassr is in doubt; he was not in the squad against Al-Riyadh. The Portuguese outlet A Bola reported that the striker is not comfortable with the club’s situation and refused to play.

One of the legends of contemporary and all-time football signed a new two-year contract with Al-Nassr in June 2025. However, these tensions could raise doubts and lead to Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible departure from the club that welcomed him in 2022 with the highest salary ever paid to a soccer player, either to another club in the league or even outside the Saudi league.

CR7’s salary and Benzema’s dilemma

Ronaldo’s salary when he arrived in the Saudi league was €117 million, whereas today, after the renewal, his salary has increased to €208 million.

There have also been transfer rumors and a possible departure of Ronaldo’s former teammate, Karim Benzema. The Frenchman also expressed his dissatisfaction with the league and the club, and stated that he is in contact with European clubs to explore other options for a future stage of his career.
