Iliman Ndiaye plea made amid Man United interest as Everton transfers proposed

Everton have been urged to keep Iliman Ndiaye by the club's former winger Anders Limpar

Everton have been urged not to sell Iliman Ndiaye after he returns to the club from the World Cup. That's the verdict of former Blues hero Anders Limpar, who has also raised four names of players he'd like David Moyes to sign.

Everton have started pre-season training and will play their first friendly of the summer on Saturday when they round-off a camp in Scotland with a friendly against Dundee at Dens Park (2pm kick-off).

Ndiaye, however, remains on holiday after his time at the World Cup in North America, where he scored one goal and created two more for Senegal, whose journey came to an end on July 1 when they lost 3-2 in the last 32 to Belgium in heartbreaking fashion.

When the mercurial winger resumes training with the Blues, the speculation over his future may accompany him. The ECHO reported last month that Manchester United are interested in his services while their rivals Manchester City have also been linked.

And Ndiaye did admit before the World Cup that he wants to be playing Champions League football, which both Manchester clubs could offer next season.

Everton, however, are in a strong position. The 26-year-old has three years remaining on his current contract and given the huge impact he has made since his £15m move from Marseille two summers ago, the club is keen to reward him with new and improved terms.

And for Anders Limpar, the lifelong Blue who won the FA Cup in 1995 with the club he supports, there should be no plan to let Ndiaye leave.

The former Sweden international, who scored six goals in 82 appearances at Goodison Park, said: "It will be an extremely hard blow if Iliman Ndiaye leaves Everton for Man Utd or another club. He is the best player in this Everton team.

"Of course, Everton would like to keep Jack Grealish, either on loan or permanently, but Ndiaye was the best player and will be one of the best footballers in the entire Premier League in the future .

"You can't just sell players! He's Everton's player, so please keep him. They need to keep their good players and bring in valuable ones, instead of selling the best ones.

"Make sure you keep Grealish and Ndiaye and bring back John Stones. They need to bring in good players, like Benjamin Nygren or even Lucas Bergvall. That's the kind of players they need. They shouldn't sell their best people."

The Blues are expected to explore the possibility of bringing back Grealish, whose loan spell from Manchester City was proving to be a big success before he sustained a serious foot injury.

Stones, who spent three full seasons at Everton before making a £47.5 move to City, is a free agent after leaving the Etihad at the end of last season.

The centre-back, who is currently playing for England at the World Cup, is not thought to be on the Blues' shortlist, while it remains to be seen if they have any interest in Swedish duo Nygren, of Celtic, and Bergvall, of Tottenham Hotspur.

But one player Everton manager David Moyes does admire is Chelsea striker Liam Delap.

And Limpar, speaking to PariuriX.com, said: "Liam Delap is definitely a good player that Everton should bring into the team. He is still young and can make Everton better, no doubt.

"The problem is that Everton need to buy three-four top players - not sell their best people."
