Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins and his interior designer wife, Becky Boston, are ramping up plans to renovate their $16 million heritage home. The couple has logged development plans for their trophy home fixer-upper with Waverly Council. They snapped up the grand 1880 Victorian manor from Keri Spooner, the deputy mayor of Waverly Council and her late husband, Brian, in a $16 million off-market deal that settled in mid-2025.According to the proposed plans, Cummins and Boston are seeking to combine original architecture with contemporary design across the five-bedroom property. The plans by MHN Design Union include restoring the manor with a steel and glass link bridge that connects between the old heritage house and the proposed new addition. The original historic front verandah will be reconstructed, and the home’s front entry door and gates will be restored. Existing arched windows will be refurbished or replaced in their original configuration. There is also a proposal to add a swimming pool and landscaping.News of the development proposal comes just months after the couple snapped up a $4.8 million semi-detached home located at the rear of their new $16 million Bronte home. The secretive off-market purchase of the two-bedroom home settled earlier this year.Set on a 323-square-metre holding in a quiet cul-de-sac, the new Violet Street property sits adjacent to the family’s grand Victorian-era residence, purchased in late 2024.While the homes remain on separate titles, the move offers Cummins and Boston an opportunity to create a sprawling estate by joining the two blocksThe semi was sold through PPD agents Alexander Phillips and Thomas Fuller following a discreet “coming soon” campaign.Phillips has handled multiple property deals for Cummins over recent years, including the $15 million sale of the cricketer’s former Bronte residence, Figtree House, in February. That manor had originally been bought by the couple for about $9.5 million in 2021.The sum is a far cry from the last time the Violet Street resident traded hands, for $88,000 in the early 1980s.Set on a cul-de-sac block with off-street parking and a long backyard lawn, the original semi is considerably more modest than the couple’s sprawling Yanko Avenue home – the 1888-built Victorian residence on more than 700 square metres. The fast bowler, who grew up in the Blue Mountains, also owns a 1930s cottage in the Southern Highlands, which he purchased for $905,000 in 2017.He and Boston first met in Sydney in 2013. They later married in Byron Bay in 2022 and share two children, Albie and Edie.
