As the IPL 2026 kicks off on March 28 (Saturday), the defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be in action right on day 1 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They have begun their practice session on Match 20 (Friday), with most players, including almost all Indian players, joining. Even Virat Kohli was present. However, the one name that was surprisingly absent was fast bowler Yash Dayal. In fact, his face was also missing from the graffiti of the team bus. This was pretty hard to not notice, especially since he was charged with some serious allegations on physical abuse last year.Yash Dayal last played competitive cricket in the IPL 2025 final between RCB and Punjab Kings (PBKS). Since then he has not played cricket, after the allegations against him came to light. He was even was not selected for the Uttar Pradesh team for the domestic season due to the legal charges against him. Since then he has completely fone off the radar. Neither the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, BCCI Centre of Excellence, nor his childhood coach could get in contact with him, according to a report by The Times of India.“The case was going on against him, so he wasn’t considered for selection. I remember there was a call from CoE checking on him in September, but we weren’t able to establish any contact with Yash Dayal. He has even changed his number. Even his childhood coach doesn’t know his whereabouts," a UPCA official told the publication.A girl from Jaipur submitted a complaint at the Sanganer Sadar police station, claiming that Yash Dayal had sexually abused her for a long time by promising to help her pursue a cricket career. The complaint stated that Dayal presented himself as a powerful cricket player, emotionally swayed her, and promised her future assistance and opportunities in cricket. The complaint claims that the alleged offences occurred when the girl was underage. She further claimed that she was intimidated and that attempts were made to cut off communication with her.
